A note on flights
We recommend most clients book their own flights directly with the airline. Booking direct means you keep your miles, use your card benefits, and have a direct line to the airline if something goes wrong. No waiting for us to relay messages when a connection cancels at midnight.
The exception: when we can bundle flights into a package with real savings. We will always flag it clearly and let you decide.
Why this costs less than Trip Design
Trip Design is planning only, so its fee is the whole of what we earn. Here we also earn a commission on what we book for you, which is why the upfront number is lower for more work. The next section explains exactly how that works.
How our fees and commissions work
We charge a consultation fee upfront to begin work on your trip. It covers research, planning, and coordination before a single booking is made.
When we book hotels, tours, and transfers on your behalf, the supplier pays us a commission that is already built into their standard rate, at no added cost to you. Rates vary by supplier type, and the table below shows the full range. We publish it because you should know how we are paid.
Once your trip is complete, we apply a credit toward your next trip. It is our way of rewarding clients who keep traveling with us.

Commission rates are not a factor in what we recommend. Your trip is designed around what is right for you.

Travel with us once and a credit comes back to you toward your next consultation fee. Send a friend our way and there’s a credit in that too.
Credits are valid for 18 months and may be applied to any service tier. Referral credits are earned once the friend you refer pays their consultation fee in full. One credit may be applied per trip, and credits don’t combine.

Why is the consultation fee lower than Trip Design?
Because we earn a commission on the bookings we make for you. Trip Design is planning only, so its fee is our entire compensation. Here the fee is one part of it.
Why is the consultation fee non-refundable?
Research and planning begins immediately after payment. The fee reflects the time invested on your behalf, and the plan is yours to keep either way.
Do commissions cost me anything?
No. Supplier commissions are already built into the standard rate. You pay the same whether you book through us or directly.
Do you book my flights?
Usually not, and that is deliberate. Booking direct keeps your miles and your card benefits, and gives you a direct line to the airline. We make the exception when a package bundle produces real savings.
What if my trip doesn’t fit a tier?
